Concept App: Style Me
Style Me is a concept app designed to help track of what type of clothes are in our closets and using AI, it uses deep learning to detect clothes that are similar on the internet or in our closets.
Duration: 1 week
Role: UX designer, UX researcher
Overview:
SO, WHAT'S THE ISSUE?
Young adults in their 20s buy clothes and forget what is in their closets, resulting in forgotten clothing items.
HOW CAN WE SOLVE IT?

WHY DO WE NEED IT?
If users find something they’d like to recreate an outfit from a tv show or in real life, they can upload a picture to the app. Then, AI will search similar results in users’ closets and show something identical from stores they shop at.

When the users buy clothes online, they can copy to the app and will automatically be added to the app’s closet.

KEY TAKEAWAYS
Style Me is an app that will be able to help young adults choose outfits at the tip of their fingers, without the piles of clothes all around. When they find something they like but are unsure if they have it in their closet, they can take a picture and upload it to the app and AI will be able to give the options in their closet.
If I were to re-design the Style Me app, I would try to refocus the app to help with overconsumption and instead of showing the shop option when an image is uploaded, I’d want the app to reiterate how to be creative and choose the clothing items that are already in our closets to recreate the outfit.
